Biochem/physiol Actions:
CDC16 plays a vital role in the control process of cell progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle as it is a major component of the APC/C, a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase. APC/C is activated by phosphorylation and acts in the process of ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of target proteins followed by control of cell cycle progression.

General description: CDC16 is a tetratrico peptide repeat (TPR) containing proteins. It is colocalize to the centrosome at all stages of the mammalian cell cycle, and to the mitotic spindle. It is a component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C). APC/C complex is a ubiquitin ligase that control the initiation of anaphase and mitotic exit.
Immunogen:
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 111-125 of human CDC16
Physical Form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
