Biochem/physiol Actions:
GTPase-activating protein activity of CHN2 is regulated by binding of phospholipid and diacylglycerol (DAG) induces translocation of the protein from the cytosol to the Golgi apparatus membrane.
General description: α-chimaerin, a GTPase-activating protein gene have two isoForms, α1- and α2-chimaerin. Both the isoForms contain C1 and Rho-GAP domains. But α2 (β) isoForm contains an unique N-terminal SH2 domain whereas it is absent in α1. It has a cysteine-rich phorbol ester binding domain. It is expressed in granule cells, specifically in late stage spermatocytes. It has molecular mass of 30-kDa.
Immunogen:
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 16-30 of human CHN2
Physical Form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
