Antigen Background:
The CD9 protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It can modulate cell adhesion and migration. It also triggers platelet activation and aggregation. In addition, the protein appears to promote muscle cell fusion and support myotube maintenance.
Application: Anti-CD9 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for immunohistochemistry at a working dilution of 1:100-1:250 and western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500-1:1000. It was used as a primary antibody for the immunolocalization of adhesion protein CD9 during a study to investigate the impact of adhesion proteins on skeletal myoblast differentiation.
