Biochem/physiol Actions:
CDK9 partners with cyclin T or cyclin K in regulating several cellular processes. CDK9/cyclin T are the components of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex that regulates transcription, mRNA processing and transport and histone modification. The CDK9/cyclin T complex is also exhibits anti-apoptotic function controls the differentiation of monocytes. The CDK9/cyclin K complex interacts with DNA damage and repair proteins to maintain genome integrity.
