General description: Cytochrome b is comprised of a light chain (α) and a heavy chain (β). Cytochrome b(558) α−chain (CYBA) is a subunit of phagocyte-specific cytochrome b, a membrane-associated heterodimer. It is encoded by the CYBA gene which is located on 16q24. Mutations in this gene results in autosomal recessive chronic granulomatous disease (CGD).
