General description: Casein is a milk-derived substance routinely used in blocking buffers for Western, Southern and Northern Blot procedures. Blocking agents are used to reduce non-specific binding of detection reagents to the membranes.

Preparation Note: Dissolve entire contents of bottle in 800 mL molecular biology grade water. Stir until well mixed, then add water to final volume of 1L. Store at 2-8°C for up to one week.
